Discover the beaches of
Mochima
by kayak
3 days/2 nights

After your hiking/trekking feats in the Gran Sabana, why not relax for a few days at the beach? exploring the Mochima National Park by kayak.

The Mochima National Park covers an area of 94.935 Ha and comprises all the islands you can see along the coast between Puerto La Cruz and Cumana.

Due to the numerous islands, the sea conditions are normally quite calm in the park, so this journey of approximately 50 km requires only basic kayaking skills. We will cross a little stretch of open sea, which may require a bit more technique. The itinerary can be adjusted by the guide to fit participants' abilities and the state of the weather and the sea.

Day 1 (L, D, camping)

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel and together we will prepare the boats and equipment for our journey. Once ready, a little briefing on safety and the basic techniques of kayaking. We then leave the port of Mochima for the bay of Manare where we will have a hearthy lunch and practice new skills.

We then leave for the island called East Caracas, about 2 hours away. If we have luck, we will come across banks of dolphins, we will have time to play with them for a while. Once on the island, time to relax on the beach, skin diving, etc. we will have dinner and camp on te island.

Day 2 (B, L, D, camping)

We set sail after breakfast towards the West Caracas Island. We will stop to do some diving between both islands and then sail to the bay of Santa Fe and end the day at Arapo islands, where we will stop for the night. There are good possibilities to see dolphins also today.

Day 3 (B, L)

Once again, we wake up early to dismantle and clean-up the campsite, have breakfast and set sail towards a site called "the pool", to swim and do some diving. We then stop for a little rest on a beach called Ña-Cleta and finish our sailing day in Valle Seco, where the vehicles will be waiting for us. We load the kayaks and equipment and return to Mochima where we will arrive at about 4pm.
